As many of you know, LoftSEVEN hosted an exhibition last week during Art Walk, just as we have for months now. And we absolutely love celebrating Art Walk at LoftSEVEN. It’s a chance for us to be a part of the community, show off some great art and welcome “non-downtowners” to our amazing neighborhood. However, each Art Walk has been a challenge for us. Every time, a few bad apples seem to ruin it for all! We’ve had random guests wander the halls of the Haas Building, knocking on doors, peeing in stairwells, ripping mezuzahs off the walls, breaking elevators, pulling fire alarms or tagging graffiti. So not cute! It boggles my mind how some people can be so disrespectful when invited into someone else’s home (mind you, folks–the owner of the building lives here!).
In always putting our residents first at the Haas Building, this event has made the second Thursday of the month lots of fun for some, but a pain in the ass for more than a few (as this Downtown News story attests for the larger downtown community as a whole). Because of that, we have decided that after four months of trying and wishing for something better, we’ve made the ever so difficult decision to take a break for a while. It’s a real bummer, but we haven’t forgotten you, Downtown. We’ve still got the Sunday Sample Sale, Rooftop Comedy and Movie Nights for major fun with friends, and, as always, they’re free for all!
Hope to see you soon!

It was an all day pool party yesterday on the roof of LoftSEVEN to benefit LA Children’s Hospital. We had about 300 people show up for the fun, which included a cold jacuzzi, beer-pong, and drinks courtesy of Coke and Beautiful Bartenders.

So tequila has never really been my drink. I’m more of a vodka or whiskey guy. However, I have to say that Tres Generations is some mighty fine stuff. I got an education in my tequila on Saturday, for example, did you know that Patron is shitty tequila with awesome marketing. In fact, it’s owned by Paul Mitchell Hair Products! LOL. There were 3 kinds of Tres for me to choose and all were super smooth on their own, but it was the concoctions that really made the night. Thanks to our professional mixologist, you know he’s good when you get up the next morning at 8am… hangover free!
